地域文化遺産研究会「ゆがふ舎」

「ゆがふ（世果報）」というのは沖縄の言葉で「豊穣」「平和」という意味があります。

ゆがふ舎は、地域文化遺産研究会代表の平井真人の生家です。
この築130年の茅葺き古民家（神戸市北区）の茅葺き替えや復元作業に参加してきた仲間、そこに集う人々が「手仕事」文化の探索、創造、育成、保存を行っています。
沖縄口で平和で豊穣な世を意味する「ゆがふ（世果報）」にならい古民家を「ゆがふ舎」と命名しました。

Welcome to our YUGAFU-SHA homepage

“Yugafu ” is an Okinawan word meaning “fertility” and “peace”.

We are a group of people who have been gathering and participating in the restoration work of this 130-year-old house in Kobe. Our activity is to explore, create, nurture, and preserve the culture of handiwork.

We named the old private house “Yugafu-sha” after the Okinawan word for peaceful and fertile world “Sha” is a Japanese word for house or hut.

“As we recently face the wake of handwork crisis, we reacknowledge the culture of “workplace” in the thatched home of Kita-Kobe..

We have a strong interest in the “thinking of pre-modern skills”, which was found in the restoration work of the old private house.” Hirai Masato said.
